Jasmine V. Hernandez

Jasmine Villaflor Hernandez is as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Presently, she serves in the Child Advocacy and Protection Unit. Prior to joining that division, she served as a first chair in its Juvenile Justice Bureau where she prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies committed by persons under the age of eighteen years old.

An active member of the Chicago legal community, in addition to her work with the Asian American Bar Association of Chicago, Jasmine is also an active member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, National Filipino American Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association (“CBA”). Jasmine is an editorial board member of the CBA’s monthly publication, The Record. She is a past president of Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago.

Prior to joining the Juvenile Justice Bureau, Jasmine litigated misdemeanor jury and bench trials. She also served as an Administrative Supervisor and Compliance Officer for the Office of the Chief Judge, First Municipal District. Jasmine is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. She also earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University and a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois School of Labor and Industrial Relations.
